BLOUNT CONTRACTORS, Inc. performed the site development and structural concrete work for this unique facility. Its purpose is for the testing and calibration of high-power x-ray equipment, to be installed at various border crossing locations for the inspection of containerized cargo shipments. The 24" thick concrete walls provide shielding against the powerful x-rays, so their jointing and detailing was quite critical.
